With over 30 years of business experience, Mike Holmes knows the value of hard work. He started working in the agribusiness industry at an early age. Mike has been a salesman, a timber farmer, a business owner, CEO for a multi-million dollar company, and House District 31 Representative for the current term 2014-2018.
Mike has accomplished an impressive voting record in his tenure representing House District 31. For two years in a row Mike was named the second most conservative member of the House Legislative body of the 105 members. Mike has sponsored and co-sponsored numerous good bills designed to advance the needs and interests of his constituents and our State. Mike is running again to maintain his position in the House because there is still plenty to do on the priority list of issues that we need to acknowledge and face with realistic legislative action.
As a family man and businessman, Mike Holmes has demonstrated the right combination of principles, talents and experiences to bring the best representation to House District 31. If re-elected, Mike will continue to fight to make Alabama and America first in job creation, education, and support for our farmers and foresters who are so vital to District 31.
Mike served as the Chairman of the Elmore Country Republican Executive Committee from 2011-2013. Mike also had the honor of representing Alabama as a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Tampa in 2012 and in Cleveland in 2016. He is also a charter member and former officer of the Wetumpka Tea Party since 2009.
Mike is married to the former Shirley Russell and they have been married for 54 years. Mike and Shirley have two children and four grandchildren. As a family man, Mike knows how important it is for the people of Elmore County to have their Christian conservative values represented. You can rely on Mike to represent us with honesty and integrity.
